SeismicExplorer

Originally, we planned to release a series of utilities to support various interpretation packages.  The original product was AVO-Detect, a program to compute and display AVO attributes.  However, it turned out that much of our early work was as consulting geophysicists, and the program grew and developed to support our consulting work and prospect generation, evolving into a full-featured interpretation package, Seismic Explorer.

Why Seismic Explorer?

Seismic Explorer is unique in that it was developed by independent geophysical consultants/explorationists to solve our exploration problems, not by computer scientists with no geophysical or geological experience.  As we needed to solve specific exploration problems, the program evolved, we gained more users, who, like us are independent consultants and explorers, with the need to solve real exploration problems.  Input from our users has been key in helping to evolve the program.  Our users are independent geoscientists who are consulting and/or generating prospects for themselves or their clients.

Unlike other interpretation programs, Seismic Explorer is full-featured, in a single module.  There is no need to buy additional addons with added costs.

Seismic Explorer Features:

  • Load Pre-stack (Gathers) and Post-Stack Seismic Data
  • Import wells, tops, culture, horizons, faults and other data (magnetics, gravity, etc)
  • Pick horizons (fast auto-picker) and faults
  • Manipulate Gathers (Select offsets, azimuths, etc)
  • Stack gathers with offset ranges, azimuths
  • Compute AVO attributes (gradient, intercept, fluid factor, porosity factor, lithology factor, AVO class)
  • Compute multiple additional amplitude, frequency, semblance, dip attributes
  • Compute spectrum and scan frequencies
  • Basic processing steps (trace scaling, AGC, bandpass filter, phase rotation, cdp fold)
  • Grid points, horizon/grid math, horizon smoothing, polygon clearing, attribute math, TD curve from log
  • Display all volumes, and computed attributes in map and 3D views
  • Display seismic, time slices, horizons, attributes, wells and tops in the 3D Viewer
  • Display seismic and attributes IL/XL/gather in the Cross-Section Viewer
  • Display overlays of attributes on seismic or other attributes
  • Display seismic and attributes for IL or XL in the Stack Viewer with overlays
  • Display wells, tops and synthetics in both the Stack and Cross-Section Viewer
  • Use the LAS Viewer to analyze, filter and edit well logs
  • Generate Pickett and Hingle plots along with other cross plots in the LAS Viewer
  • Cross plot attributes, select points and project them to other Viewers
  • Generate and/or extra wavelets for use in the Synthetic Viewer
  • Use the Synthetic Viewer to generate synthetics to tie wells
