The History
Seismic Utensils, LLC was founded by Filip Soos and Jim Applegate to deliver specialized seismic interpretation tools (utensils) to clients. What began as an AVO attribute program (AVO-Detect) has evolved into a full-featured seismic interpretation package, Seismic Explorer. This evolution has taken place over a number of years and has been helped by input from our early users.
SeismicUtensils, LLC is headquartered in Denver, Colorado, USA. A development and support operation is located near Hamburg, Germany.
The Flagship Product
Seismic Explorer is a full-featured interpretation package that runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux computers. It is a complete package…NO addon modules. The program has evolved from computing AVO and other attributes and displaying them into a program with a full set of features to support the independent explorationist.
Mission
Our mission is to continue to enhance the program based our own consulting and exploration experiences, but with valuable input from our users. Filip and Jim continue to use the program for numerous consulting and exploration projects, refining the program to help them produce the best output which we hope will enhance our users’ exploration and development projects.
Pricing
The program is priced for the independent. It is available as a yearly lease or as a one-time purchase. The pricing is significantly less than other programs on the marker, yet it provides as many or more tools.
